Why Thyroset?

Thyroset supports the normal functioning of the thyroid gland and the immune system. It was designed to supplement typical vitamin and mineral deficiencies in people requiring special care in terms of their thyroid gland function. Remember that supplementation supports therapy, but it does not constitute a main therapeutic activity in itself. What does it mean precisely?
Due to their different structure, vitamins and minerals interact with each other and with other components, causing a reduction (antagonism) or improvement (synergism) of the absorption of a given vitamin or element. The principles of synergism and antagonism should be strictly observed during supplementation with several individual substances, when designing the so-called multivitamins, and also when making a healthy menu.
What does it mean precisely?
Many products contain high vitamin levels that are simply excreted from the body. Some forms of minerals are also harmful if overdosed. Our product consists only of organic forms of minerals (salts), chelates and methylated forms of vitamins.

Why are minerals in Thyroset in the form of organic salts and chelates?

The absorbability (availability) of minerals depends mainly on auxiliary substances added to them. Minerals in the form of natural organic compounds ensure many times better absorption of ions of mineral salts than their inorganic forms, such as carbonates, sulphates or phosphates that break down in gastric juice.
Also, small protein molecules are best absorbed by the body, so inorganic minerals bind with amino acids in the gastrointestinal tract. This process is called chelation. It is important not only for absorption of minerals, but it also protects our body against poisoning with heavy metals, which can be bound by a special protein and excreted from the body. Therefore, chelates protect the body against deficiencies, poisoning, or excessively high levels of elements, especially those that can easily be overdosed.

Why is it so important to take vitamins in their methylated forms?

Thyroset contains a methylated form of vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) and a methylated form of the folic acid. These forms are characterised by good bioavailability, that is, the degree of their absorption by the body. The form of supplemented folic acid is very important. There is a growing number of reports about mutations in the MTHFR gene. People with a defect in the form of mutation in the MTHFR gene can experience disruption in many body processes, for example, normal detoxification. Furthermore, a body with a mutated form (polymorphism) of the MTHFR gene frequently does not produce proteins and neurotransmitters effectively, does not use antioxidants, and/or excrete toxins. The consequences of these anomalies include inflammatory conditions, blood clots, heart diseases, and difficulties with getting pregnant. What is important, in this situation folic acid is not appropriately processed, and a similar problem concerns the processing of vitamin B12. Excessive folic acid is then deposited in its toxic form. In future mothers, poor absorption of folic acid is associated with an increased risk of a neural tube defect or Down syndrome in a baby. Therefore, women with a mutation in the MTHFR gene should not take normal folic acid, but its methylated form (i.e. the form that can be absorbed by the body).
